Chapter One: Hell Glared Back The kirin swam through the dark and murky waters, the inky depths only made all the more intense by the equally dark sky. He could hear the screams of shadows, nightmarish amalgamations taunting him, torturing him. The stallion could hear all of the voices of these shadows, and yet he could understand none of them. This did not stop those nightmares from taunting him, playing back the events that led him to this moment in grim detail. For a brief moment, the stallion felt himself falling, his head abruptly dipping below the surface of the briny, nightmarish depths before his gaze was met with a blindingly white light, causing him to stumble backwards and shield his eyes. The weathered kirin had no time to question the sudden solidity beneath him as the ring of cannon fire and the shouts of sailors rose over the whiteness. This is an alternate universe to the canon My Little Pony timeline which surrounds a fictional subspecies of My Little Pony's kirins, simply labeled Northern kirins. Specifically, it follows a family of Northern Kirins called the Lockehearts, whom over the generations have been the most infamous Northern Kirin family! This timeline focuses on bringing MLP into a semi realistic setting, with a timeline not dissimilar to our own in terms of events and cultures, just with the added MLP flare. As of the most recent member of the family, the story follows Autumn Lockeheart, who, in her mid twenties, is only just now beginning to discover who and what her family's legacy was built upon.

Alexander Lockeheart's story starts while he is the captain of Celestia's royal navy, during the span of time when Princess Luna has been banished to the moon. During his time in her navy, Alexander and Celestia grew rather close as compatriots, with Alexander, despite being younger, acted as something of a voice of reason to Celestia while she dealt with the internal turmoil that was her own self hatred for banishing Luna. He was a proud North-Eastern kirin whom carried himself high, and his qualities as a leader earned him the respect granting him that right. Regrettably, after Captain Lockeheart returned to sea to intercept a brewing war, his ship was destroyed amidst the chaos and he was thrown overboard into the sea. Alexander would wake to find himself in a sort of purgatory, being driven to madness by constant hallucinations of a world exposing him to his worst fears. This would lead to his eventual hatred of Princess Celestia, where the color of his eyes would gradually shift
